We guarantee your puppy will arrive disease free. Our veterinarian completes an exam at 8 weeks of age and issues a Florida Health Certificate showing vaccinations received and results of assessment.
Buyer must have their Veterinarian examine the puppy within 72 hours upon receipt of the puppy in order to maintain this guarantee.
The puppy must remain in a protected environment until 14 days after the puppy’s third/final set of inoculations, or this guarantee is void. You should not take your puppy out on a leash in a public places, dog parks, pet stores, community parks, rest stops, etc or around unvaccinated dogs due to risks of disease exposure, such as life-threatening parvo. Household members should avoid visiting places where dogs frequent during this time as well. Remember “All four off the floor” in public areas until fully vaccinated including your veterinarian office.
Stress from travel and/or a new environment, or abrupt change in diet, can often cause the puppy to have diarrhea or upset tummy. Pups leave Lea Acres with firm, normal stools so Please contact us if this becomes a problem. Costs of minor ailments due to puppy stress are not covered by this guarantee. Illness contracted either during travel or after the puppy is in your home is not covered by this guarantee.
We guarantee the genetic health of your puppy.
All breeding dogs have been tested and cleared of an array of genetic and physical disorders such as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, blindness caused by genetic disorder, VWB and Addison’s diseases. We guarantee the puppy is free of any inheritable disease that causes death or serious impairment of vital functions until 24 months of age. If such an inheritable disease is documented by a licensed veterinarian and presented to seller with sufficient supporting evidence as determined by seller (seller has option of second veterinarian opinion, exam or testing), buyer will be entitled to replacement puppy from next suitable litter. The seller will either re-home the puppy or the family may choose to keep the puppy.
This guarantee does not include viral/bacterial infections, improper bite, hernia, hypoglycemia, Giardia or Coccidiosis. Nor does it include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals or physical injury.
Providing for your dog’s lifetime of health is your responsibility.
Bringing a new dog into your life is a major decision and with it comes important responsibilities. You are expected to provide quality food, appropriate training, companionship and regular veterinary care and preventative treatments for your Australian labradoodle.
Like you, a dog may be subject to ailments in the course of their life. Only some of these ailments are genetic in origin. We strongly advise purchase of health insuranc to provide for those unexpected occurrences in the life of an active dog.
Check out some great resources for new puppy parents in the Good Dog Learning Center. Here are your responsibilities as a puppy parent:
- Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours after bringing him/her home.
- Ensure your dog is always cared for both physically and emotionally, including by providing proper shelter, food, water, exercise, grooming, human contact, stimulation and protection from bodily harm.
- Take care when socializing young puppies to minimize the risk of contracting infectious diseases such as parvovirus or kennel cough. Avoid public spaces with dogs of unknown health status (e.g. pet stores, dog parks) until the puppy is fully vaccinated.
- Have your dog receive a veterinary exam at least once per year.
- Seek immediate veterinary care in the event of sickness or injury.
- Have your dog spayed/neutered at the appropriate age for the breed per contractual guidelines.
- Regardless of the reason or circumstances, notify us first if you are ever unable to keep your Lea Acres dog.
- Notify us of any change of address and/or phone number for our records.
- Keep in touch and send us lots of pictures. We hope you’ll follow us on social media and share updates there or by email.
